Nasi Lemak as know to be the best local heritage food of Malaysia. Having the most authentic local taste of Malay, the Nasi Lemak history dates back way during the British Settlement times.

It was consider a meal that mostly the poor people in Malaysia with its well pack with the banana leave so that the person can take it around and can have it anytime they wanted to.

The basic things that you will find are slices of fresh cucumber, roasted dried anchovies (aka Ikan Bilis) with peanuts, hardboiled egg and the core ingredient, Sambal (hot & spicy fresh chilies paste sauce).

 

 

 

 

As from time to time changes, the Nasi Lemak have revolved with new add on ingredients like Fried Pandan Chicken, Belacan Chicken, Fried Fish, Sambal Squid, Steam Prawn and more.

Ali Nasi Lemak located at Sri Weld Food Court, Beach Street have been in operation since 2001 and it been one of the best classic Nasi Lemak in Penang. Started up with selection of 3 varieties – fish, prawn and anchovies, now they have enlarged the selection with salted fish, squid and chicken.



It’s freshly made in the early hours of dawn where the rice and special hot & spicy fresh sambal is still steam hot. 

The stall is ready by 6.30 a.m. till stock last from Monday to Saturdays. So for many people who are looking for a nice, steamy & spicy breakfast should try this fascinating Nasi Lemak.

You can request for “Nasi Lemak Double Banjir” meaning that the portion is double and it will fully cover with the special hot & spicy fresh sambal.
